APRIL TWENTY EIGHT THOUSAND EIGHT
"Awesome"fest

Awesomefest2008 was this past weekend. First and foremost, kudos to Matt and Katelyn on a job well done. Second, the last four bands, one of which being our own Across Five Aprils, did not play due to a fight breaking out. Please stop fighting at shows. When you do, you are ruining a lot more than you think. And that's about all I want to say on that.

APRIL TWENTY TWO THOUSAND EIGHT
757 Shows

We often get asked: "Are any shows going on tonight? What's going on tonight?"
And we reply with: "Check out this web site, this web site, this web site, and oh yeah, don't forget to try this web site as well."

There has to be a better way. In an attempt to unite our hometown area, we introduce to you our newest brainchild: 757shows.blogspot.com

If you're in a 757 based band and have a show that you don't already see posted, or are a band on tour who are playing here, send us the show's info and we'll post it. This is only going to be as good as you let it be, because we aren't actively seeking new content, we are relying on you to provide it. Think of us as the glue that holds it all together... sometimes Elmer's, sometimes Super.
So bookers/promoters/venues/bands/fans... let's go!

APRIL NINETEEN TWO THOUSAND EIGHT
Cancelled

Tonight's Straylight Run show was cancelled after we set-up and hungout a bit. We of course hate cancelling any shows, but it had to be done under the circumstances. However, we shot a few videos to pass the time while we were waiting for the official cancellation word, and this one just needs to be shared...

The check-ins keep-a-comin'!

We have another update from one of our own. Promise Me Scarlet checked in with:
"We?ve been writing, writing, writing for our upcoming EP! We recently went into Grendel Sound Studios to record three of the potential songs that will be featured on the aforementioned EP. We also believe that we have found a producer but we can?t give away any details yet! Make sure to keep checking our MySpace page for updates on the writing process, recording information, and other updates!"

APRIL SIXTEEN TWO THOUSAND EIGHT
Across Five Aprils & Conditions check-in

We have some updates from two of our own!
Across Five Aprils says:
"A5A has a ton on our plate. Right now were on the Victory records Young Bucks tour with Secret Lives! & Red I Flight. As soon as that ends we pick up a few dates with The Hottness/every bridge burned/ a stained glass romance. Were shootin a video for our song "In Photographs" in VA Beach on april 26th the day of awesome fest. Were excited about that! We have confirmed the MONSTERS OF THE DEEP TOUR that were way excited about. That starts in august.
Other than that were just pushing our new record "LIFE UNDERWATER" as hard as we can everywhere."

Conditions says:
"Hello friends,
Things are going absolutely wonderful right now in the Conditions world. We have been very busy writing a lot of new material with plans to record a full length sometime later on this year. We're very excited about the way we've been evolving and are even more excited to share those songs with all of our friends. 2 of the newer jamz are already recorded on our Myspace page ("Citizen" and "The Machinist"), so make sure you check those out if you haven't.
Our debut EP is FINALLY available online! It's been such a long and painful process not having it out, but it is now available for download from iTunes and SnoCap, and you can also order the hard copy from Smartpunk.com. We are so relieved to have it officially out and available to everyone to partake of. Please make sure you spread the word if you like what you hear!
Our music video for "Keeping Pace With Planes" is now on our Myspace page, and it was directed by Scott Hansen (www.scotthansenproductions.com). He does great work, and it was really cool to work with him, we're stoked with it. We also have a new layout on our page courtesy of our main dude Phill Mamula (www.phillm.com), with some pretty radical pictures by the legendary Ryan Russell (www.ryanrussell.net). We have been so lucky to have some pretty awesome people willing to help us out and make us look so much cooler than we actually are, haha.
We have some pretty gnarly shows coming up around the region in VA, GA, TN, some of which are with our friends in Paramore. They have been so kind to us to continually bring us out with them and play to their MASSIVE crowds. We hope to see some friends and make some new ones! I hope everyone is enjoying the amazing spring weather, and come see us soon!"

Don't forget that you can see both of these bands, along with our own Love & Reverie at AWESOMEFEST 2008 on April 26th in Virginia Beach! Fliers and all the bands and further details can be found in our "calendar" section.

APRIL EIGHT TWO THOUSAND EIGHT
STRUT Fashion Show

This past Saturday the boys and I traveled north to Richmond, VA for the STRUT Fashion Show on the campus of Virginia Commonwealth University. We were very excited to be within such a large and respected show.
We started off with breakfast in the Hampton, VA area. We decided on Burger King, because at the end of the day, we're all fat kids on the inside, and we hadn't tried the new BK Cheesy Tots yet... so you know we had to make a stop. The tots weren't all they were made out to be, we were a little disappointed, but we do encourage you to get them yourself and try them, they were cheap afterall, so definately worth a try. Burger King did supply us with one of the more memorable quotes of the day:
(It was quite busy in there and the employees just didn't seem to be moving all that quick)
Manager: "We're getting backed-up here! What are you looking for?"
Employee: "A new job."
Manager: "What?"
Employee: "Nothing."

We arrived at VCU mid-morning, made a few stops, got a few new items, saw a few friends, ate at 'Famous Daves BBQ' which was pretty good, so definitely check that out if you ever get the chance. Great BBQ, great cornbread (Tyler doesn't like cornbread, so tell him he's weird), free desserts (we think the waiter might've been sweet on Tyler)... good stuff. We arrived at the venue early as we had some last minute things to do. We hungout backstage and appreciated everyone running around getting things done, knowing what it takes to put on a great show, and thankful it wasn't a show WE were in charge of.
We set-up our table, met some new friends, and then waited on the masses. It was raining out pretty good, but that didn't stop nearly 200 people from waiting outside in the rain for the doors to open. We took turns passing out what ended up to be nearly 600 business cards at the doors, making some new friends and making sure people didn't leave without knowing about us. We ran into some people we knew, overheard some people talk some good things about us, and saw some people we've met before who were happy to see us in the show. We saw a lot more Virginia Beach kids than we expected and we were happy to see our hometown well represented in Richmond. After about an hour of people filing in, the show was about to begin so we took our seats. Took a while to find them (we knew we had floor seats, just didn't know where) and we were quite pleased to see ourselves in the third row from the stage on the floor. Always nice to be treated well.
The show was really pretty spectacular. Everything was spot-on and we couldn't find one thing that we personally would have changed had it been our show. We ended up with five items in the show, and were quite pleased to see our stuff on such a large stage.

[ full set + videos ]

We'd like to thank everyone at VCU for their efforts, and their hospitality. We'd especially like to thank Stacey for her efforts in coordinating us and helping us with anything we needed.
There were some insane video and photography cameras there. Once we get the professional videos/photos, we'll post those as well.

APRIL ONE TWO THOUSAND EIGHT
No April Fools

I am back from Atlanta. Somewhat rested. The first installment of the 2008 line arrived while I was gone. I looked at it all last night and was very pleased with it. If you ordered an 08 item in the pre-order phase, they are all being mailed out tomorrow. We thank you for your patience. If you have yet to place an order, very little remains in the first batch of orders. We will be placing another order very soon.
